Wavelength is a Pearson Flyer sailboat (Hull # 129), built in 1981. The Flyer was originally envisioned as a one-design racer, but unfortunately the class didn't gain widespread acceptance, and as was the case with several other designs, the one-design fleet didn't prosper. Created by Bill Shaw, the fundemental design of this boat yielded a fast, fun to sail boat that is still a formidable competitor in handicap race fleets everywhere. The Flyer typically rates around 135 - 141 in various PHRF districts around the U.S., and has also raced under IMS and MORC rating rules. The boat's large cockpit, and simple, spacious interior make the Flyer a comfortable daysailer, or to serve as a decent weekend cruiser when the mood strikes.
This website was created to serve as a resource for the crew of Wavelength , and Pearson Flyer fans everywhere.
